The statues are made of different types of stone

ALABASTER and Onyx

Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone composed primarily of gypsum or calcite. Its fine grain and variable transparency are sometimes interrupted by color nuances. It is a popular material but sensitive to water and therefore not suitable for outdoor use.

Onyx is a form of agate, a gemstone. It is recognizable by its characteristic colors and bands. It forms in the cracks and cavities of volcanic rock. Agates were already prized in ancient Egypt.

BELGIAN HARDSTONE and other limestones

Belgian bluestone is a sedimentary limestone formed from the remains of marine animals and shells that were compressed millions of years ago in a tropical sea. It has characteristic grayish-blue to grayish-black hues, which vary depending on the processing and the stone itself. The stone often contains visible fossils, making it unique.

Marble

Marble is a metamorphosed limestone composed of pure calcium carbonate. Marble is a popular sculpting material due to its light reflection, strength, and variety.

Granite and diabase

Granite is an igneous rock composed primarily of three minerals: quartz, feldspars, and micas. Diabase is an igneous rock found in the vents of an erupting volcano. They are black, gray, or green and contain little quartz.
